For customers
Requesting a song
From tapping Request to seeing your song in the queue — every step in detail.
Search
Tap Request Song to open search. Type an artist, song, or lyric snippet — we pull results directly from the Spotify catalog.
- Play preview — a 30-second preview plays on your phone. The button is always visible (no hover required).
- Artwork — the album art. Some venues show explicit-content badges.
- Request — the primary CTA. Tapping it moves you to the dedication and checkout screen.
Dedication (optional)
Add a short note that appears on the venue's public display and in the DJ's cockpit. Great for birthday shoutouts, proposals, or "for the bride and groom".
Note
Dedications are visible to everyone. Keep it friendly — DJs can decline requests with inappropriate messages.
Bundles
If the venue offers bundles (e.g. 5 requests for the price of 4), you'll see them on the request screen. Bundles are pre-paid credits you can spend later in the same night.
Genre lock
DJs can lock the vibe to specific genres for the night. If your track doesn't match, we'll suggest alternatives and let you decide before checkout.
Rate limits
To prevent spam, each guest is capped at a set number of requests per hour. If you hit the limit, we'll tell you when you can request again.
What happens next
- 1Complete checkout. Your card is authorized (not yet charged).
- 2Your request appears in the DJ queue instantly.
- 3The DJ approves, bumps, or declines. You'll see the status update live on the venue page.
- 4When your song plays, your card is charged. If declined, the hold is released.
