VenueTunes
For customers

Checkout

Payment is handled by Stripe. Here's exactly what happens to your card and when.

The two-step charge

VenueTunes uses authorize now, capture on play:

  • Authorization — the moment you finish checkout, we place a hold on your card for the request amount. You are not charged yet.
  • Capture — when the DJ marks your song as Played, the hold is converted to a real charge.
  • Void / refund — if the DJ declines your song, the hold is released. You will not see a charge on your statement.
Why the hold?
This way you're never charged for a song that didn't get played. Some bank apps briefly show the hold as a pending transaction until it's released — that's normal.

What you'll see on your statement

The line item shows the venue name (or "VenueTunes — [Venue]") plus a short description that includes the song title, so the charge is instantly recognizable.

Receipts

Every completed request has a receipt page at venuetunes.com/receipt/{id}. You can view it from your account or from the confirmation screen right after checkout.

Failed payments

  • Card declined — try a different card. The song is not queued.
  • 3-D Secure required — your bank prompts you to confirm; approve to continue.
  • Network error — retry from the same screen. You will not be double-charged.

Refund requests

If something feels wrong (double charge, DJ never played, wrong song), open the receipt and tap Request refund. Venue staff review and process refunds directly.
